Amazon Big Deal Days: How Ecommerce Brands Can Capitalize

The Amazon Fall Prime event, known as Big Deal Days, recently ended, and we're taking a closer look at its implications for ecommerce businesses.

Wrapping up the two-day event held across 19 countries on October 9th, this event built on the success of last year's event, which saw hundreds of millions of items purchased and over 150 million sales from third-party sellers.

This year's sale continued to serve as a strong kickoff to the holiday shopping season. Prime members took advantage of exclusive discounts on a wide range of products, from electronics and home goods to fashion and toys.

Sellers on the Amazon Store capitalized on this opportunity, so let’s examine how the event affected their growth and consumer behavior.

What Is Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days?

Amazon Fall Prime, or Amazon Big Deal Days, is a shopping event designed for Prime members. Prime Big Deal Days offers exclusive discounts on various products, from electronics and home goods to fashion and toys.

Prime members get early access to savings on Halloween items, batteries, pet supplies, and more. Amazon Big Deal Days kicked off the holiday shopping season on October 8th and 9th, 2024.

New deals dropped frequently during the event, allowing members to shop early, discover new deals, and find fresh savings. Prime Big Deal Days was available in 19 countries, including the US, Canada, and the UK.

How to Prepare for Amazon Fall Prime

Amazon Big Deals Day happens every year, so if you missed this one, don’t stress. Here’s how sellers gear up for the massive sales event and a unique chance to reach millions of active customers and increase sales.

Preparation is underway for many ecommerce brands, and here are the best ways:

1️⃣ Optimize Product Pages

Sellers preparing for Amazon Fall Prime should optimize listing to maximize conversions. Discounted prices attract shoppers, but product listings must be equally appealing. To optimize Amazon listings:

  • Conduct thorough keyword research to ensure the right keywords are used for your product.
  • Write clear descriptions and bullet points providing all necessary product information.
  • Include FAQs within your listing when appropriate.
  • Use high-quality images and videos to showcase your product.

High-performing listings pay off when Amazon traffic surges during the sale. Always make sure your product pages are ready to convert visitors into buyers.

2️⃣ Offer Other Ways to Save

Ecommerce suppliers can entice customers to purchase their products during Amazon Fall Prime by creating deals, discounts, and promotions on their listings. Here are three ways to offer customers ways to save:

  • Lightning Deals

Time-limited discounts on select products that create a sense of urgency among shoppers. These deals are prominently featured on Amazon’s website and can effectively drive impulse purchases.

  • Prime Exclusive Discount

Prime members get discounts. The discounted price is shown with the regular price crossed out and the percentage saved. Click the Advertising tab > Prime Exclusive Discounts to set a discount in Seller Central.

  • Coupons

You can use digital vouchers to reduce the price of a product at checkout, allowing you to offer discounts on specific items or categories. Customers can easily get coupons through email, social media, or product pages.

3️⃣ Check Inventory Levels

Prime Day sellers know how to predict demand. Historical data and current trends can help them identify hot products.

Contact your supplier in advance to ensure you have enough inventory. Stocking up during or after Prime Day can neutralize gains. If necessary, adjust your shipping schedule.

Monitor inventory levels and set reorder alerts to avoid last-minute stockouts. Decide whether to use Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) or ship yourself.
