Catching up With Bloomist Founder Mike Zung Post-Acquisition to Amenie

When Mike Zung launched Bloomist in 2018, he had a clear idea in mind: Make Nature Home. He wanted to help people feel more connected to nature in their everyday spaces. It’s the kind of connection that comes from holding something handmade, created by an artisan who cares about where their materials come from and how their work fits into someone's interior design.
By 2020, homes had become everything: offices, classrooms, gyms, and places to rest. Spending on furniture and appliances rose from approximately $373 billion to $405 billion, showing just how much households were investing in their spaces. Bloomist met that shift with calm, nature-inspired pieces that offered a sense of peace when people needed it most.
Now, Bloomist has stepped into a new chapter after being acquired by Amenie. The mission stays the same, and the collections and the makers are still there. What has changed is the capacity to grow, reach more individuals, and keep bringing natural beauty into the home in simple and beautiful ways.
Building a Sustainable Brand with Clearco’s Support
In the early days, bringing Bloomist to life meant making some tough calls. Supporting over 90 artisans, adding new products, and keeping inventory steady all required funding that didn’t compromise what the brand stood for.
Clearco became a key part of the picture at that point. Our funding gave Bloomist the space to move forward without worrying about upfront costs, personal guarantees, or giving up control. A great example is the brass frog collection. These pieces were handcrafted by artisans in India and brought to life before a single unit was sold, thanks to backing that covered production from the start. That kind of trust (on both sides) made it possible to scale while staying grounded in the original vision.
With funding in place, the team could put more energy into new SKUs and future planning. It was all about growing right, with room to stay thoughtful and maker-first every step of the way.
Bloomist’s Growth After the Amenie Acquisition
Joining Amenie marks a fresh beginning for Bloomist. The focus on natural design, artisan partnerships, and sustainability is still at the heart of everything they do.
With added support, Bloomist has brought back fan favorites like EcoFaux botanicals and handmade ceramics. The brand is also expanding into bath and body, outdoor living, and linens (yes, your patio might get the Bloomist treatment soon). These changes align with what people are looking for. About 92% of shoppers say they prefer brands that are environmentally or socially conscious.
The website has been redesigned for a smoother shopping experience. Mike’s original vision continues to guide the brand, now with a team that shares it and is helping bring it into more homes.
Ecommerce Funding That Fuels the Next Chapter for Founders
Mike continues to advise Bloomist and other direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands. His experience building Bloomist from the ground up and guiding it through acquisition gave him a practical lens on what it takes to scale a brand with care.
Mike now works as a Go-To-Market Advisor at Customers.ai, an identity resolution platform that helps brands turn anonymous website visitors into engaged customers. He focuses on positioning, growth strategy, and scalable marketing solutions that convert traffic into results.
Clearco’s involvement helped make that possible. Our investment gave Bloomist the flexibility to pay artisans, launch new products, and manage cashflow without sacrificing ownership.
For other founders facing similar choices, Mike's advice is simple. The right funding partner gives you room to grow without asking you to compromise. He sees Clearco as a turning point in Bloomist’s story and something he’s proud to recommend.
